2013 Audi Sport Quattro Concept

Remember when Audi revealed the Quattro Concept back in 2010? It was never brought back to light until now and it will be shown in public at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Sport Quattro Concept will sport a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine capable of producing 560 HP (412 kW) and 700 Nm of torque. There is also an unique liquid-cooled electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery producing an additional 150 HP (110 kW). In total, the Audi Sport Quattro Concept will roughly have 710 HP and a top speed of 189.52 mph. It can run 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 3.7 seconds. While the conventional engine outputs 94 mpg (US) or 113 mpg (UK), the electric motor can give another 31 miles (50 km).

The aesthetics of the Quattro Concept has changed much from the 2010 version. While it features a similar front hexagon-grille, the front vents are definitely much wider and it looks like they removed the small lip vents. The new concept also features a side vent and slightly revised tail-lights. It looks like the design of the rear diffuser is also different with larger exhaust pipes. In addition, the Sport Quattro has been given new lights and 21-inch alloys. Body parts are made out of both aluminum and carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), adding to the total weight of about 2 tons (4,078 lbs/1,850 kg).

Will this new Sport Quattro live up to its predecessor? We will definitely see in the upcoming months.
