The wait is over, probably the most anticipated release of 2019 has been unveiled, the new Supra. Toyota needed 5 years after showing us the FT-1 concept and close to 20 years set this apart from the last generation.

So, what's new? Everything. Thanks to BMW-Toyota joint venture, the new sportscar could manage to underpin a few tricks. Sure it shares the same platform, engines, interior and other technologies, but Toyota assures us that the new Supra has it's own personality.

For looks, to be honest, this car hasn't strained too far from the concept, sure it has to follow regulations and has to be practical, it still looks great and I'm sure Toyota has left something for the tuners to work on.

At launch, we have 3 editions, the GR Supra, which has a 3.0 Liter turbocharged six-cylinder unit, which develops 335HP and 494Nm of torque. The engine is linked to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and is capable of launching the car to 100km.h from a standing point in 4.1s

The other two variations are Japan bound 2.0 Liter, turbocharged engines, which come in form of 194 HP and 258 HP respectively.

For the 3.0 Liter variants, there's also adaptive suspension in standard, which for the other two are optional. Toyota also hooked in an active differential, which uses an electric motor and multi-plate clutches to control it.

Supra has been limited to 900 units for the first year, the price is set at $49.990 in the States, $55.250 for the Launch Edition. We don't have the European price yet.

The first deliveries are expected in the summer of 2019 and the production is set in Austria, alongside the Z4.
